Avensis d4d t180, good ?

Just bought a 2007 toyota avensis d-cat t180. Has 125k miles, full toyota service history, sat nav and its pristine.

Looked online and they have a servere head gasket issue. How common is this issue and has any one had any experience with this ?

Toyota extended coverage on these engines under a goodwill basis for a period of 7 years/111,846 miles, whichever came first. All of these engines are now outside this goodwill. However, it is thought that only a small percentage were affected.

A Toyota dealer should be able to tell you whether your car was affected and whether it had rectification under this goodwill.
