type of transponder for 03 d4d previa

Hi all, since i only have one master key for my 03 Previa , I purchased a new uncut remote key off eBay.I had the key cut -ok programmed the remote door locking -ok , however i performed the inserting the key five times followed by opening and closing the drivers door six times trick as prescribed on many forums to match the transponder to the ecu . The security light entered programming mode as it should (stayed on ) but when the new key was then inserted it began flashing a 2-1 code , which i think means matching unsuccessfull.

This i suspect is due to the wrong type of chip in the key , but I dont know which is the correct one . Any wisdon anyone??
