Using GL-5 Gear Oil

Did anyone get to use GL-5 gear oil instead of GL-4 in his Aygo?

GL-4 gets very uncommon where I live. Can GL-5 damage something?

GL5 is not unless specifically listed on the product backwards compatible with GL4, Toyota only specifies a 75w GL4 grade oil and can be purchased from Toyota using part number 08885-81001 ( 1lt can )

Don’t use a GL5 where GL4 is applicable, you are risking to damage bearings and synchronisers. You can probably use any other oil manufacturer if you can’t buy a Toyota oil but only use GL4. Castrol have a nice oil GL4 spec, I have use it in the past, very good oil.
