Hi,

Have got the original Toyota  6 spoke wheels with 195.60.15" tyres  like the pic below, but they are  peeling a lot around the hub, scuff in the rims and the rim on the inside must be corroding as the seals are always slowly letting the air out of three of them.

Enquired on having them refurbished but they need the wheels for a week so thats a no go as I do not have a spare set and neither do the refurbishers.

There are load of second hand  on the usual sites but at 13 + years old not much better than mine, though seems the  later Yaris uses the same rim and tyre ?

Looked a some of the online places selling new alloys but no idea which are good or bad, plus probably looking at a simple design like the existing ones rather than the fancy very detailed one.

Can anyone recommend something suitable at a fair price ?

You could purchase a set of alloys or steel wheels that fit your Corolla, and use them while you get your current ones refurbished? After they're done you could put the ones you just bought back on eBay or Gumtree.

Other than this, have you tried finding any mobile wheel refurbishers? There's one in Birmingham that a friend of mine used, he comes out and he'll do it on the spot but I suppose it depends how much damage is on the alloys.

I wouldn't, personally, go with a 3rd party wheel for a car. I'm sure they're alright, but the insurance part of it puts me off.

Hi Michael,  I had mine done by The Wheel Specialist which is a franchise, they have a depot in Nottingham, Leicester, Leeds, Manchester around Derbyshire,

In Feb/March 2018 had 4 wheels on my 17" Prius done, cost me £75+vat (£90) per wheel.   I left the car with them by appointment 3pm on a Wednesday and picked the car up 25 hours later (they need them overnight).  Tyres come off, new valves, beautiful finish and you can choose same colour or lighter/darker/black/blue/white etc. All signs of previous owners kerbing gone.  Obviously you need to get home and back in the morning, dont think they do B&B yet 😀

Google  The Wheel Specialist.   They get 4.9 out of from previous customers, including me.

Thought , assumed ,that was more if you changed  rim sizes that you would run foul of the insurance ?

I just wanted same size rims  to fit the existing tyres, just a standard part like any other non Toyota  car part you usually buy for maintenance and repair.

Sounds good,  but the nearest one is a two hour round trip.

Will have to check and see if theres a mobile one in the area...
