Toyota Hiace 300gs 2.5 d4d

Hi there I need help in getting at the back of fuel rail on my Hiace 300gs 2002 mrk4 to fit a booster box

I can see when looking under the Bonnet there is a inspection panel in the firewall that I'm sure can be accessed through the cab, I have removed the centre bin and a few bits of dash trim but I still can't get through.

No one seems to know anything about these vans and Toyota have said remove the engine but that seems abit drastic as there is a inspection panel in the firewall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Good luck with that, Rob....trouble is that the Hiace ain't that common in the UK...OK you see them around in commercial use or as a campervan base vehicle but never in any great number.

So I guess there's little known about them in the private use, everyday world.

I'm starting to realise that now and they're not that common in the commercial market either.

I won't give up as my last Hiace was the import 3L 1kz engine Super Custom and that was a brilliant bus and I soon found my way around that, saddly that was written off thanks to a young lad running into the back of me.

I based the 300gs on the SC and thought as its for the UK market it would be cheaper and easier to get parts which it is just no one knows anything about them,  it is the LWB which is better for my sheep shearing business and I like Toyota (JAP cars) plus I didn't want to follow the VW craze

I'm happy with the power up take now I've got used to it being a manual but in 5 gear doing 70 mph it will drop to 60mph when it hits a hill. All the injectors are clean indicating the injector seats are fine. its only done 86k fdsh.

I don't know why they made it only 88bhp as the next one up is 120bhp my mechanic reckons there isn't any differences in the engines just the parameters on the ECU, again no one can remap it due to high security.

Hi Rob, is there any way you can trace the importer, if it's a dealer they might have the know how about the vehicle.

The Super Custom has gone for scrap and my new Hiace 300gs was originally from Oregon Toyota Reading area, I have been in contact with my local Toyota dealer (Snows) and they said to me that someone from the work shop said and I quote "remove the engine I hope that helps" think what he meant was he didn't know..

I think that translates as..."go away and don't bother me again"..
