Kerb damage to alloy wheels

Hi

I recently suffered some damage to a nearside alloy wheel rim due to scraping the kerb.  It's fairly minor (a series of striations about 1-2 mm deep and running for 300 mm) and abrading with emery paper has not had much effect so I have looked into getting it repaired professionally.  The wheel specialist says he will smooth out the rough metal and then spray paint to match the original finish 'as close a match as possible'.  Is the manufacturer's original finish paint-based, some kind of  specialised treatment or is it just polished metal?  I am concerned that any repair will stand out so would welcome any comments on this.  thanks

The company I used was local to me ( Nailsea, North Somerset) not much use to you, I know, but I found them by doing a google search. They did a great job on one wheel with curb damage. It took about a week, as they had to take the wheel back to bare alloy, repair the damage and them powder coat and lacquer. Placed next to an original wheel, you couldn’t see which was which. It cosy about £95.I hope you find someone.

With those assurances, i'd rather get another wheel, and sell the one i have. Breakers should have something for sure, seeing as you car is 2011.
As for repair, they will probably repaint the whole wheel trying to match the original color, match will probably be around 90-95% correct. They probably have paint mixed based on the original color, so it's not from Toyota.

Had my previous auris  alloy resprayed at Toyota dealer by a third party they used for minor repairs and you could tell there was a very slight difference in colour
