Hi all,

I have an issue with my wife's Yaris. The remote keyfobs are not unlocking/ locking the car.I have tried 2 new battery's in both remotes and although the red light is blinking on the fob they are not doing anything on the car.I have unlocked the door using the little key part and when inside the car a yellow light is on the dash meaning the keyfob is not present.Any ideas please before Mr Toyota relieves me of a good few quid.

Thanks John

Has this happened at one location or others?

Its always worth disconnecting the Battery (car) to eliminate any odd gremlins and lockups when confronted by weird electronic issues. It had to be done, even if only to eliminate that possibility.

That's a good question, spoke to my wife and she said its only happened at home.As we have 2 other Toyotas and it has never happened before this never crossed my mind.

If the fuse is blown these are the symptoms I had when mine was blown.

Another thing it can be is external influence. Things such as wifi routers, wireless doorbells, National Grid communications, etc which operate on the same or similar frequency can cause issues.

If our keyfob is not in the car, we get nothing on the dash and the car is dead.

Yellow light means that the car has been started, and the key is then removed from the car..  Like if the key is in your pocket and you get out to shut the gate.
