:) Just got my used T-sport last couple of week (Jan 2002, 17k miles). What a car (having come from a turbo diesel) and that 6000 rev mark and over really brings a smile. Nothing lke my old 1.3GS I had 5 years ago and far superior, although that was bomb proof and I had no complaints - hope the CTS has the same reliability.

For the first time I am wanting to go the long way home from work!! Or is this just part of the T-sport addiction??

Some small niggles such as road noise at lower speeds - kind of rumbling and when I start the car in the morning and turn the steering for the first time, I get a small grating noise and then nothing thereafter. Anyone got any ideas?? I bought it from a non-Toyota dealer (BMW/Mini showroom) and I might take it to a Toyota dealer for a road test just to have it thoroughly checked over.

So there you go, a new CTS member and one with a smile. I haven't tried a Civic Type R which seems a great car also, but I prefer the understated appearance of the CTS but with that power ready to use.

Also CTS owner for over 13 months... grating noise ... YES... I also noticed that noise everytime I start my car... I have reported it to the Toyota technican and it doesn't seem to be a problem... no harm to the car...

does anyone of you read the handbook ???

the noise after starting the car comes from the ABS-system which is checking ASR and VSC functions ! Totally normal !

 Thanks Guys for the comments. Much appreciated.

As an additional point, does anyone know whether a K & N replacement filter (not induction) invalidates a Toyota warranty?? Does it have much benefit, I've read other posts which suggest very little improvement.

Time for another spin.

Yes , accentuation on very little  ;)

With a drop-in filter you mean you've got more power (cause of the differnt sound) ... but it isn't so.... or the increase is so small ..... to forget it ;)

Ive put the k+n panel filter in.

If you search the forum there is a lot of info about it.

I think it makes a diference albeit a small one.

No extra noise just feels quicker in the lift.
