Has anyone watched Click on television. Two of the biggest car security companies had flaws in their systems that could be hacked into.  Hackers could home in on a car change the password then follow that car and using a laptop and could override the security system on the car and set off the alarm they can lock and unlock the doors force the driver out of the car. The car is in total control of the person using the laptop. The company that found the flaw in their systems gave them seven days to rectify the flaw before they announced it publicly and both companies fixed the fault in the systems. One of the joys of automation.

I caught the tail end of that, Tony...and it beggars belief.!

Amazing that these security companies can have such flaws in their systems.

Yes Neil they have all the technology but don't close all the loopholes.

Just to clarify, the feature was regarding third party alarms fitted to cars, and not the vehicle manufacturer's security systems.

Clifford and Pandora were the companies involved.

Police advise owners to fit good quality steering wheel locks to cars with keyless entry, and to take measures to keep their fobs secure. Sold Secure are the current leaders in testing and approving security products - https://www.soldsecure.com

Allegedly there are a lot of larger & more critical things than a car that have security loopholes ... 😉

Yes Mike they were the company's involved, and not the actual car manufacturers, I didn't want to name names on here.

And your right in what you say Scott there not the only industry it's a buyer beware situation.
