Refurbishing IQ wheels

My IQ wheels are badly corroded with the original 'paint' bubbling in places. I have tried to remove with paint stripper, but it has no effect on the coating. Does anyone know what the standard IQ2 (2009) wheels are coated in? Is it powder coat??

If so, does anyone know how to remove it. Sanding the whole layer off would take forever. Any suggestions appreciated.

Mine are the same on my 2009 IQ, Chris.  I've also noticed that the front tyres are regularly losing pressure with no signs of puncture/damage, so am going to get the tyres removed and wheels checked to see if it's just poor sealing or whether the wheels themselves are producing the poor sealing.  I'll keep an eye open on here though to see if anyone has any further advice.

Good luck!
