Question about stop/start engine facility

My diesel-engined Verso has the stop/start facility. Engine cuts out when I stop in traffic.There's a switch to enable/disable it. I leave it enabled.

However I notice that on some trips the facility does not work. The engine continues to run. This is not due to it warming up.

It just doesn't operate. Sometimes, after driving for a while, it starts again to operate.

Sometimes it works from the very start of a trip - when the engine is still cold.

Not a major problem, but my question is whether this might be indicative of a more serious problem? Should I worry?

I wouldn't worry.
