what will happen if I remove the ABS fuse, will I have normal breaks

I was overtaking a car at 80MPH, approching a roundabout, I was in the 2nd lane but I need to get to the 1st lane, there was already a car on the roundabout

brakes worked fine, but not fast enough

why remove a safety feature?

the yaris brakes will lock up without abs and you will skid to your certain doom, unless of course you're a trained driver.

ABS allows you to steer a suprising amount under heavy braking, if you want to stop faster - uprate your brakes, don't remove ABS.

why is it hard to press the brake pedal when the car is at high revs (revs takes time to drop)

Brake assist works on a vacuum taken from the manifold, if there was a problem there your engine would be running like a bag of spanners.

If the pedal feels really hard I would check the condition of your servo.

as soon as the revs drop, I have no probs, maybe its cos im not pressing the cluch at the same time, will have to check

You could try upgrading your pads. I've always liked EBC green stuff kevlar pads. They give a little more bite and they don't produce nasty black corrosive dust.

try fensport, you're probably looking at a couple of hundred quid for some nice cross drilled discs, basically means they stay cooler for longer = more efficient braking.

could try uprating your brake pads too, and calipers

you can spend as much as you want, or as little - but don't remove ABS, just take your car to a skid pad and test how good ABS really is, it's a life saver!

It's basically cadence braking (rapid stomping of the brakes in non ABS cars to steer your way out of trouble) but at a much faster and efficient rate

They still produce dust but it's a light gray colour and it washes off just like normal road grime. The last car I had them fitted to with OZ alloys and the alloys looked brand new after 40k miles :D

Based on this statement, I take it you have now tried braking with the ABS fuse removed?

If this is the case, you'll need to get the car's braking system checked over. If the car has ABS fitted - it's for a reason.

1stly make sure your car is actually fitted with ABS and the "ABS fuse" is not for something else. I have known this to happen for other reasons on other makes of cars.

If you are certain you have ABS, you'll need to make sure it's working properly. Find a long wide road which will need to be very quite (no traffic at all). Get up to about 40mph and slam the brakes on really hard - get the wheels to lock up. If you slide you dont have ABS or it's not working propperly, but if you feel severe juddering through the pedal, then it's working fine and you need brake upgrade.

Your car will also have rubber brake hoses - which under extreme braking will expand and loose pressure. Another good brake uprgrade to eliminate this is braided hoses that can't expand giving more pressure to the callipers

Remember also your car wasn't designed to be used on the roads at 80mph either :P

Try http://www.apexperformance.co.uk they do Brembo 10 groove discs, and Mintex 1144 pads.

I have just bought some myself from them. I paid a total of £170ish for them and they will stop my Rolla in no time at all. Just gotta find the time to put em on now!

They will almost certainly do them for your car.

I had to call them to make sure they could get them in as they didn't advertise them for my car. They took a week to arrive cos they had to sorce them. Once they get them, they'll take a day to arrive.

Enjoy!

Also if you sign up for Gold there are a couple of Brake manufacturers/suppliers I managed to get into the discount scheme that could get you discs and pads for nearly half of what Toymota paid :P ;)
