MPG

Hi All.

Personally I don't worry about MPG, it does what it does, but I know certain members like the most amount of miles they can get from 5 litres of fuel.

Anyway I had my oil changed from 5//20W to 0/5W and it has gone up instantly 3pg, yes the oil's a bit dearer but an extra 3mpg it will soon pay for itself.

Mike.

Similarly when buying a car, fuel consumption, VED, etc don't feature highly for us.

Instead we're more interested in whether the car suits our needs and its physical attributes - does it fit our garage, does it have enough boot space (large enough to house a therapy table with or without the rear seats folded), is the tailgate opening wide enough, petrol not diesel or hybrid as we don't do enough annual mileage to justify the additional purchase price (NB: we buy new), etc.

As long as the fuel economy is reasonable that is all we're interested in.
