Topping up engine oil

Just wanted to be sure. I checked my oil level and it needs topping up. For my last service i used 5w30 Casterol. I got 5w30 of another brand is it okay to use it to top my engine oil level. Dipstick showing between min and max.

If petrol or diesel without DPF/DPNR - yes

If diesel with DPF/DPNR  - yes as long as it is C2 low ash.

Since it's petrol, you should be fine. 

When doing the next oil change, get a 1L bottle extra, for topping up, that's what the car will probably use up in that period.
