Problem with mk1 dials

My dials faded and stopped working. My originals dials were made in France. I got a replacement from a breakers but apart from the Battery light nothing is working. My replacement is not made in France. Are there 2 types of dial on the mk1? If so, has anyone got a replacement 2004 dial cluster for mk1 yaris d4d? Help appreciated as can't use the car.

I'm starting to think the dials changed slightly from 2003 onwards. Could I get away with a petrol one in place of my diesel one? Just have no glow plug light.

There are actually 4 variations the first 2 types are shared by both Japanese & French built 1.4 D however after build date of feb 2003 the Japanese production stopped coinciding with a face lift so and the other two options fit these French only pst 02/2003 models if you now have a Japanese set they will not work with your 2004 model. Petro models are not shared with diesels at all

The brightness of the gauges where adjustable are you sure your originals have not been dimmed too much

Must be Japanese. So the dials I need must be post 03 and made in France?

Great knowledge btw.
