Bumper Getting Fitted Tomorrow....

Getting my border bumper fitted tomorrow. Only prob is that I couldn't find any black mesh today!!!

What to do ?? Simply go silver mesh ?

I'm defo not going Silver and getting it painted black, because that's what I did originally and it looks very bad after a few stone chips.

Any suggestions ?

you could get it powder coated black, very durable and a good finish.

What ever you do make sure you go for FINE mesh aye:

None of this Co**** or Medium stuff....will look MUCH better if you can find the above :)

But IMO if fine is avalible then it looks much better :) Dunno about finding it in black though :(

Jimlad, if you cut and paste KiwiMR2's little mesh pic enough times and print out on to card, problem solved!

Missmr2, where did you get the black mesh from ??

I havn't had any luck so far and I'm defo not going with silver, or silver mesh painted black.

They said they can't really do much if I have silver mesh but want it black. They said it would be best to get black from somewhere.

I tried B&Q to see if they had anything decent and they didn't.

I need it fast !

On a side note, I went to see my bumper fitted and it is a very good fit and looks nice ! The bodyshop is doing a bit of work on it tho to get it looking nice as the bumper is a bit rough in places etc at the moment. If all goes well it should be on the car next week.

demon tweeks sell mesh which is black. They say it is epoxy coated colours.

What's that mean ?

an epoxy resin is a, hmm, sort of glue that is made by mixing two inert substances together, to make one very strong glue.

another point.. anyone know how much I'll need ?? I need to cover the big gap in the border bumper and where the fog lights were.

The car's in the bodyshop, so I can't go measure it.

Oooh... demon tweeks do different colours.. lol red, yellow, blue... think I'll go with black tho.

nah mate...

they fitted it today and I went along to have a look. Good fit. They're taking it back off and doing a bit of work to it before they paint it. It will be going on early next week... so not in time for the Scottish meet.... :(

but at least I know it's in good hands ( unlike my other pap bodyshop!! )
