2006 Prius.  Driving fine and suddenly I can feel I am loosing acceleration power.

engine higher rpm's but car won't go much over 25 or 30...manage to drive for 15 miles home...

barely made it up a few hills...barely,

My dashboard display goes off a lot, but I got it to come back on today and the ABS VSC and circle with a small

! symbol showed up.  Any experiences on what could be going on?  thank you

Sounds like it's in limp mode, you'll need to read the fault codes to see what the problem is. Could be 12V Battery is knackered, though judging by the age the traction Battery could be on the way out too.

I wouldn't recommend driving it in this state until it's sorted out. If the traction Battery is bad, the cells can go pop...

Thanks Aaron,

The ABS VSC appear googled to do with the brakes..but, they are fine.

So, I need to get a code reader and see what pops up?

My dashboard speedometer function goes out most often.  I've read that is pretty tricky to repair.

A small card deep in the dash?  The only place to take these cars are at the dealer and I just don't have the dollars

for that adventure...so, trying to figure some of this out.  thank you, Sir.

p.s.  I had a rebuilt main/big Battery put in a couple years ago
