Toyota 'Hybrid Health Check' and OBD Code Reset

If your hybrid is due a service and you were expecting the dealer to do a Hybrid Health Check as part of that service, then it can't be done if, for some reason, the car's error log has been cleared down within the last ~600 miles.  Evidently, the check needs to establish that there are no historic codes logged as well as whatever else it does to perform this.

The reasoning behind the the DTC code clear check is the HHC is an extended warranty which requires the car is fault free before the warranty can be applied. The system checks to see if someone has recently deleted a fault code as unfortunately some people try/tried to use the HHC warranty to cover pre-existing faults by clearing a fault code then presenting the car for a HHC. Toyota decided the car should be free of DTC or code deletion for at least 600 miles before they will allow a HHC warranty be applied.

Ah, that makes sense.  I wasn't posting it by way of any complaint, just to let owners know that they may inadvertently prevent their HHC taking place, and only find out why after the event.
