New Brakes

I fitted my new discs and pads yesterday, and even before they're fully bedded in I can tell that they are far far better than my old standard ones. It's certainly worth spending a few extra squids on uprated disks and pads (Brembo 10 groove discs and Mintex 1144 pads).:thumbsup::thumbsup:

With my old setup, the brakes used to fade at about 40-0mph when slowing from 70mph off the motorway. But no there's not even the slightest fade in them.

Good job they arrived when they did as my drivers side disc cracked on friday on my way home from work!

I do about 70 miles a day, so they'll be good in another day or so. Don't wanna worp them just yet.

Can't do handbrake turns even if I wanted to. The person who had the car before me seemed to screw it up somehow. Its never worked properly since I bought the car in 2000. Have had it tightened several times, but still have to leave it in gear if I park on a slope.

SR1998 try http://www.apexperformance.co.uk/

That's where I got my brakes from. I think they mainly do Nissan stuff, but if you email them they'll be able to source you some good stuff!!!

If you were to join Gold  there are a couple of discounts I sorted out. Both are mail order type places so delivery wouldn't be a problem with you being in Ireland and all ;)

The saving you get off a set of front discs and pads will recoup about 1/3 of your membership costs. Then there are loads of other goodies you can get on discount too B)
