EGR Valve 2017 Avensis Business Edition (Diesel)

Hi members

Does anyone know exactly what the EGR valve looks like and location of this elusive part is? I had a 65 plate same version that ran into EGR issues that then led to DPF issues and was as far as I was concerned not worth the money to repair, the dealership changed the valve for free (subject to a recall action) but I still had the DPF issue to deal with, I decided to throw the car in for another a couple of years ago for a 2017 plate 1.8 Diesel D4D Business edition.

Last week, I encountered similar issues and suspect the EGR again. But this time I don't think it has gotten to the DPF yet so I've parked it up in the hope that I can perhaps clean /de-clog the valve myself and see if that helps.

On idle, the engine is seriously running rough and I get a loss of power going up the gears. I'm feeling it's the same nightmare happening all over again... If somebody knows where this part is located, please let me know so I can tackle it this weekend and see if I can do something before it gets too bad.

The dealership is saying they cannot review the car until 21 Jun (over 10 days away).

Appreciate a picture of the part and location....

Many thanks in advance.

K

he has a BMW-derived diesel rather than an AD series.

Yes - that's what I recognise a normal EGR pipe and valve to look like but I cannot find it... It's really doesn't look as obvious as this, but really appreciate the response. Thank you.

Hi Heidfest - yes it's a BMW engine, do you know what the part looks like and where the location is? Thanks

I don't but you can look on https://www.toyota-tech.eu. I imagine what you want (a schematic) will be on there - yes, it will cost you €3 for an hour's access but you can download stuff for later use.
