Note that with Apple Carplay and Android Auto functionality being introduced from the X-play upwards, the optional Toyota navigation system (X-Nav) has been discontinued.

that's good, tbh I could never afford their x nav anyway. I'll be able to pair my iPhone with the touch screen which is good.

X-Nav discontinued? So if your phone  battery  dies and/or mobile signal is patchy or non existent all Nav functionality is lost? On the positive side using Google Maps  will add live traffic updates and the maps will always be up to date.

When we bought our i20, Hyundai didn't have integral sat navs on offer as they thought a majority of customers used their mobile for navigation. They provided a smartphone holder that plugs into a purpose made socket on top of the dash, which also charged the phone as well. No trailing wires.

However, they did provide an integral sat nav option from 2017 onwards for those that wanted it.
