Oil burners?

 Hi, does any one know what yr they finally sorted the oil burning problem on the 1.8 petrol and the diesels which i believe also suffered this problem. Surely the later 20015 models were sorted?

In the Avensis, the 1AD and 2AD diesel engines built between April 2005 and February 2009 could suffer high oil comsumption and head gasket issues. Engines built after February 2009 had production modifications.

From the mid-2015 facelift, the Avensis used the BMW N47 diesel engines.

the 1.8 VVTi oil consumption issue was supposedly solved mid-2005 but if buying a T25 to be safe & get some upgrades go for a 2006> facelift. T27 petrols don't use VVTis but Valvematics & don't seem to have an issue.
