Leather cleaning

Does anyone know the best way to keep the leather trim clean, and which products are best for the job ?

Hi Jon.

Personally I just soak it in Fairy washing up liquid overnight and then ring it out a few times  after keep whirling it in the water.

It doesn't make it perfect but it works for me.

If anyone knows better please say.

When I was younger put it in the tumble dryer, this is a big no no as it shrinks to 1/4 of it's size, what a wally!

Michael, I must be missing something here......

 you soak leather trim in fairy liquid overnight and then wring it out....... how do you do that with. For example, a car seat?

Hi Joe, Jon is asking how to keep the chamois leather clean after he uses to wipe his car dry after a wash so I put mine in clean soapy water overnight to try and soak some of the dirt off.

I don't see any mention of chamois leather clean, the subject title is 'Leather cleaning' so assume he means interior leather of his car? in which case Auto glym are good products. I stand corrected if he means a chamois but I would never soak it in washing up liquid only car shampoo that I use on the car.  🙂

No where, did I mention a chamois leather. I said ‘Leather Trim’. You know the parts on top of the dash and sides to the seats. Autoglim seems to be the way to go. Thanks folks.

Check out Renapur. I’ve tried loads of different leather cleaners/conditioners/restorers over the years and nothing’s as good as this. Magic stuff. And a pot will last you a lifetime as so little goes so far. It’s also all natural and made in the UK. I recently used it to restore a forty year old chesterfield suite which now looks like new.
