2019 rav-4 smart entry disabling

if you put your Toyota smart key FOB into 'Battery saver mode' by holding down the Lock key while pressing the Unlock key twice, it won't unlock the door unless you press the Unlock button - BUT to disable the 'Battery saver mode' you simply press any button once (such as pressing Unlock to open the door) and the key FOB is now once again functioning as a normal smart key (i.e. sending out a continuous signal) and you do NOT have to hold the key on the Start button to start the car... you only need to do that if the key FOB Battery is dead - OR if for some strange reason after you open the door with the Unlock button (which again, disables the 'battery saver mode') you press Lock / Unlock and put it back into 'battery saver mode'... then you would have to hold it on the Start button to start the car - but that seems fairly idiotic to me...

Hmmm... if you are going to the trouble of taking a pouch out of your pocket, opening the pouch, putting the key in it, closing the pouch and putting the pouch in your pocket then why not just put the key to sleep manually and the question of whether or not the pouch works is academic.

as long as you remember to put the key back into sleep EVERYTIME you push any button on it (which automatically wakes it up again) - then yes, you could forego the Faraday pouch... forget to put the key to sleep after pulling into a parking lot - your car could be stolen with a Relay Hack while you're walking into the store...
