Christos Hi,

The system in your photo is an old set up. and I don't think it's Touch & Go at all, even the Air Con set up is early model.

Hello.. the car is just one month old 2019 model and as I see all the active plus models they have the other screen with more buttons left and right. In the company that I bought they told me that this is the new touch screen!but I think isn't true..can anyone know about this to help about..

So this is newer or older screen?

I think your car is left hand drive, it might have a different system to that in the UK.

You have the latest headunit called TAS500 which is only available on the continent and is very different from the Touch 2 unit available to UK drivers. Due the lack of DAB and energy screen Toyota UK decided not to offer it.

As you have noticed it does not have the energy screen function nor does it have onboard GPS, as navigation is handled by Apple car play or Android auto, see the Greek owners manual: https://www.toyota-tech.eu/aimuploads/6ca4af6a-7842-4387-824a-1aad181f75ce/TAS500_OWNERSMANUAL-incl-COVER_gre.pdf.

No Mirrorlink on this unit you will need to use Android auto with your GS9.

Nothing wrong with your climate control either its identical to a UK car just with the start switch on the opposite side.

Hello Mr. Devon,

Is there a manual for this head unit in english/lithuanian? I've contacted my Toyota dealer but they say that the system is very new and can't even provide a manual themselves. Internet seems to be of no help.

Thanks!

I own a German spec 2016 Yaris Hybrid with LHD, and air condition unit looks exactly like yours.

However, my car stereo head unit looks differently, it has a second row of buttons at the right side of the display. These buttons are:

1. Energy monitor and travel computer 2. Telephone interface 3. Settings 4. Satnav (which is not working with my car because it does not have the Satnav module).

Besides that my car stereo unit has two knobs at the upper right and upper left side. One knob basically is for on-off and volume, the other knob is for selecting things.

I am not entirely sure, but I would be astonished if your car would not have a DAB receiver. As far as I know there are laws in some European countries which forbid selling new radio receivers without DAB (they want to deploy enough digital receivers in order to be able to switch off analog radio stations).

What does your head unit show when you switch it on?

Best regards from Bavaria

Frank

The op has the tas500 the early euro cars 2014 to 2017 and up to 2020 had the touch 2 (2 styles) same as the UK, this thread is over a year old

No dab and no hybrid interface on the TAS500 as far as i can remember, as its AA and AC system and you use apps on your phone

as for where to get hold of one eBay or a breakers yard, but they are not cheap

Owners manual for the Tas500

I just bought Yaris Hybrid SOL gen 3 in Slovenia and doesn't have DAB , only top model Chic has it. Yaris multimedia is crap but car is awesome 🙂 I love it . Selling no dab radios in Europe will be forbidden after December 2020 . For now they can sell it, but dunno what will happen with cars which doesn't has this option. I think they will somehow update them. Interesting TAS 500 has android but no integrated navigation and mirror link . With Toyota u can't get all in one car 🙂 well new gen 4 will solve this issues but will have 3 cylinder motors which I believe can't be so bullet proof like 4 cylinder motors no matter what Toyota says.

The EU and UK requirement for car radio equipment to have DAB as standard from 21st December 2020 is for new cars sold from this date. Cars sold before this date won't have to be modified to receive DAB.

With android auto and Apple car play navigation is done by your phone, mirrorlink has been replaced with AA and AC

With the engine's technology has moved on 3 cylinder engines are more refined and better balanced, they will have been tested to destruction before going into major production my only concern would be the higher compression ratio

Why not? The Aygo has been around a long time with a 3 cylinder engine and it is bomb proof. There are a lot of 3 cylinder engines out there running just fine

Exactly, I ran a 3 cylinder Daihatsu Charade GTti back in the eighties, and that had a turbo unit on the engine. Over 100k miles and not a hint of trouble, the rest of the car.. well 🙄
