New.. Recall for faulty reversing camera

Website Roadshow by CNET is indicating 14200 2019 RAV4's are about to be recalled due to a fault where the reversing camera doesn't function as it should. Toyota believe less than 1% of the vehicles recalled will actually have the fault which they have traced to an electrical connector. But they are replacing the head units of those affected free of charge.....

Believe this is in the US where reversing cameras are a mandatory fitment on new cars.  Canada are also recalling approx 3,800 Rav4's for the same issue.

If the same issue affects European market Rav4's, the issue may be dealt with via a customer voluntary service campaign, rather than recall.

The CNET website where I found the report is  American biased and as Frosty says reversing cameras are mandatory.

The report only gives a number of vehicles affected and says they were all built between May 27th and July 27th this year.

I honestly don't know if its just American/Canadian built vehicles or if European/Japanese built are part of any recall too.

Forgive me, I don't know how to get a link to the report in the forum. If anyone more tech savvy can oblige???
