Firmware upgrade

Hello

Can someone please send me the latest software update XE3953?

Currently it’s running on XE3809 and I’m experiencing problems with the FM audio. When starting the car, it forgets the pre-installed radio stations.

Big thanks in advance.

Hello @flash22

Please can you help?

The sound is very low when i am playing spotify via bluetooth. Also people say my voice on calls is very low. I have my phone device turned up to max and i have to have the car volume on about 28 to play music.

If playing normal DAB radio i put the volume down to about 10.

I have recently installed Alexa Auto and this runs via bluetooth aswell, but the connection constantly stops and starts.

I have a 2018 CHR and these are the versions of software & maps that i have:

 image.thumb.jpeg.74e1418e1b8711b18a0358bf8cf85628.jpeg

I have read through lots of comments on here and i see that you often mention a hidden menu and also asking what BT version people have.

Can you tell me where can i find the Hidden menu and my BT version (if that's what's needed)

Could it be that i need a Software/Firmware update?

Or would you have any other advice on how i can make the bluetooth connection more stable and louder?

Thankyou very much in advance

Edit have you gone into general stettings and played you the sound levels ?

As you have a sat nav the module that takes control of the USB and bluetooth

you can try tuning the bluetooth

touch2 BT tuning codes.pdf

Here is how you access the hidden menu on the C-HR

Press the Vol/Power button so it displays Audio Off
Press the MENU button

Touch «Display»
Touch «Screen off»

Quickly press CH, 5 times  and immediately press TRACK, 5 times

turn the ignition off to exit the menu

go into function check and select HF Voice Quality Setting

Thanks a lot @flash22

I will give these a try later.

With the BT tuning codes it says to go into diagnostics mode. Is this where you have to press and hold the info button on the screen and flip the headlights on and off a few times?

that method doesn't work with the C-HR, see above

Hello flash22,

I got a toyota yaris from 2017

Softwareversion: HE3934
Device-ID: 13TXDAEU-CA04

Is there a new firmware available?

If yes, the current one is in German language. Is the firmware multilingual or do I need a German one?

Thanks!

touch updates are not available, the map updates are dealer only, iirc the last map update was 2021

it sounds like the nav module is dying (memory failing)

Hi again @flash22

I cannot find "CH" and "TRACK". Please could you tell me where they are?

The "MENU" button i'm guessing you mean SETTINGS?

When you say "go into function" where is this?

Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks

@flash22 Hi bought a used Yaris Hybrid 1.5 in Portugal and as far as I know I have the XE3809, model ID: 13TXDAEU-CA02

Both system and map seems very outdated, from 2015 it seems. My problem is that in-call bluetooth volume only goes down both from the volume knob and wheel buttons. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Is it possible to update it with a more recent available version in Portuguese?

Thanks in advance!

Firmware is Euro/UK wide, so is multilingual

If you have sat nav you will have to swap the USB cable from the Nav to the DA

BT volume have you adjust the volume, in call and checked the volume level under general settings

Hey! Thanks a bunch for the file and information.

Believe it or not, after years of frustation, I found this menu just while I was waiting for your message.

I also download the 6.20 TLS update and the menu are now boxes instead of list as it was before, it seems to have updated the map, as I had 4.3.0, back in the afternoon 😅.

I wasn't able to update the DA yet as I don't have much expertise in cars overall, and don't have the appropriate tool to disasamble the radio to change the wires.

I'll buy it and try it later.

Thanks again, you rock!

Maps are a paid service, the TLS update, updates the base firmware of the nav module

So today I took a look again and saw that the screws could be remove with regular Phillips and I finally was able to update the firmware!

Now the bluetooth volume can be increased during the call!

Thanks again @flash22 for the instructions and files and @Dazaster for the pics of the wires to be changed/unplugged.

In my case the "OK" button wasn't lighting up with the same usb stick I used for the TLS update, it had only the firmware file. What I did was formatting again and putting the firmware file.

@flash22

The last part on here doesn't work:

Image008.thumb.png.e3a2b595a3fd21e003b47e1eeaccf513.png

Pressing > 5 times and then < 5 times just stays on the black screen.

Is there any other way to get to the hidden menu?

Thanks

that is pulled from the manual, not all key presses register so you may need to press 6-7 times each
