How to fit tailgate check strap

 Hi guys I brought my RAV4 D4D 2004 last week and the checkstrap for the tailgate was completely missing! I've purchased a used one of fleabay but but I'm unsure how to get the pin out?! 😕

I'm a stay at home mum & I really want to give this a try as it initially seems really easy to fix. I have a garage full of tools courtesy of partner. 

Can anyone talk me through this in a few easy steps please?

I echo the welcome to the forum. 

Frosty... We may not have got off to the best of starts but hats off to you for your encyclopaedic knowledge of this forum. That guide was originally put up in 2017!!
