Hi,

I'm interested in dowing a engine decarbonisation using HHO on my Avensis D-cat. Any thoughts regarding the procedure? considering the fact that  D-cat engine is notorious known for it's ''burning'' cylinder head gasket.

anyone done this?

it's worth do it?

it's possibe to burn the head gasket ?, considering that the Hidrogen is rising the engine internal temperature, not only the exhaust like in DPF regeneration mode.

Nik.

People have been playing about with HHO on Diesel engines for the best part of 50 years without consistently useful results. I doubt it would achieve much in the way of decarbonisation.  A more promising method might be to use a cetane improver such as ditertiarybutylperoxide (DTBP). This will increase the burn because at high temperatures the DTBP breaks down into methyl radicals and oxygen which would burn off the carbon. You would need to add it to the Diesel over an extended period to have any effect (hundreds of miles).

A number of Diesel engine cleaning additives contain DTBP - look on the back of the bottle. I think Wynn's supply one.
