"Clonk" on moving off

We thought it was the steering as it makes the sound when we move off and turn, like at a T junction, but local garage checked all underside and found nothing loose, which leaves me to think is it something to do with the interface between the Battery and petrol engines?? It only happens occasionally so difficult to pinpoint, take it to a garage and 100% it wont do it.
