Delighted So Far!

Just picked up my new 2004 Avensis Tourer (1.8i T4) on Friday - delighted so far!

First real trip was over to Liege in Belgium the following day - it went a treat and I was very impressed with the SatNav system (even happier it now includes Europe!).

I do about 40k miles per year and am really looking forward to the legendary reliability (I come from a Renault that was a heap of sh*t!).

Driving to work today (80 miles, lot of motorway) I averaged 41mpg - impressive! Is this normal with steady driving? :)

There good cars I've had mine since April this year I bought an 1.8 vvti 52 plate with Sat/Nav and traffic management find it very useful TM got me out of being stuck in motorway traffic 2 or 3 times so far. I would have liked to have bought the new shape but I had to buy the wife a new car so I couldn't afford it. Mine does about 37mpg round town and about 40-42 motorway. So far I've been really pleased with it, I had renault before this one although I had very little trouble with it the parts were expensive. Whoever had it before looked after it it had only done 5,500 miles, because it's my own car I had it Supagard polished guarateed to keep the shine for 3 years so I only have to wash it regular.

Yeah, I've got a new shape 1.8 T-3X tourer. Great car. Have done a few driving holidays in france with it with no troubles (other than the rear window smashing from a flying stone :ffs: . Can't blame the car for that though).

Only thing to look out for is the little plastic covers in the roof above rear seats. These hide the holes for the cargo net and break with annoying ease. I'm on my 5th set already and we've only used the cargo net 9 times! Dealer tells me its a design fault. So much for quality control!

We had one on trial at work to see if the boss wanted a Toyota, as soon as we tried the cargo net the fittings came out of the roof and couldn't get them back in. Unfotunatley he bought an Honda Accord Executive, the car is great it's just the service by Honda Dealer is the problem goes back in this Tuesday again to have the DVD replaced for the 4rd time, waited nearly 3 weeks for a rubber seal on the rear bumper.

My Toyota Avensis is great first one I ever bought and will have another one
