New shape avensis

Hi Guys can anyone tell me has the new shape avensis 2.0 diesel a bmw engine or is it just the 1.6 Diesel engine that has it.Thanks for any help

The 2.0 and 1.6 diesel engines in the 2015 facelift were both the BMW N47 units

I had a 2005 2.0 D4D and now have a 2016 2.0 with the BMW engine.

The new car is much nicer to drive, the engine is more smoother and more tractable.  It drives much like a petrol engine.  The old car had a very pronounced turbo surge and a was easy to stall.    Fuel consumption is slightly worse on the new car.

Last time I spoke to my dealer's mechanics about it (which was over a year ago) they seemed to think it was a sideways move. It's benefit to Toyota was that they didn't have to invest in R&D developing an EU6 diesel for a relatively low volume.
