Hi, resurrecting this.  My partner has an Mr2 with a Corolla s/c engine, & the EFI 1 fuse blew causing a breakdown.   I also know a guy with two Corolla's.....one's a breaker that he's bought, & he believes they may both have this fault.

Reading this thread, when the fuse is replaced, the engine will run for a few minutes before popping the fuse, - the guy I mention says this with his.

I had two choices with partner's car..... a sixty mile tow or try a bigger fuse.  The car did the journey ok. At the end of it the EFI fuse was cold....the 15A headlamp fuse was warm.

The car has been started twice since & run for several minutes.

Has anyone else had syptoms like this?

I 've read the expected current draw is 3.5A approx. Does that include everything else being powered,- measured from the fusebox, or juist the charger.  So is there a figure that if above, will  suggest that the clutch is failing?

Can someone explain what the fault is actually caused by, presumably it's a short cct, - has anyone looked at repairing it?

I've no experience of a charger, - not sure why it has a clutch?

Any guidance'll be appreciated.

Gary

Hi alexcbx

I hope you could see my message, as I also own a Toyota Corolla T-sport E120 and I love it very much. Since not much people talking about this model and I hope we could continuous this topic and support other people.

My supercharger S/C is Ogura TX-12 and I believe yours should be the same, somehow the wire from the PTO clutch was getting too hot and burned, then the positive and negative wire touched together... so the S/C is totally broken down. My engineer spend so much afford to fix everything, the car is running well but the PTO clutch is not working anymore.

I read very carefully on all your post. From your receipt the model no. is 3581724, while you copied the link to the wrong product, the link you have put in takes me to a different clutch assembly which is £669.00GBP, I was wonder why it's so expensive compare to yours, then I review your receipt again and confirm it should be 3581724, only cost £279.50GBP.

I bought the 3581724 from the same link and I received it, everything can fit into my car, except the "plate", the hole in the plate is little bit smaller and cannot fit into the shaft. After review your image again, it is OSC-MG01 802 and somehow I receive OSC-MG01 904, I guess that is the reason why it cannot fit into my car.

Do you still have the original plate here? Is the size exactly the same as the 3581724 OSC-MG01 802? If yes, will you consider to sell me the "plate" then I can check what's the different? I attached both yours and mind here for your review.

Hope all the E120 T-sport owner can enjoy this topic.

Regards,

Eric

Are the splines the same ? It looks like it's been supplied incorrectly

Hi flash22, thank you for your reply and the PDF.

The splines is not the same, although the hole is smaller and cannot fit into the shaft to give it a try, but we used a precision ruler to measure the splines, the splines size is thiner, but the package really marked 3581724, and looks like the seller do not want to reply my E-mail after he found out that I am not fitting it to volvo engine or Yacht boat.

When you ask about the splines and I guess model no. OSC-MG01 is referring to the voltage and size of the coil, may be the number of 802 and 904 is referring to the splines size.

Since only the coil is broken down, so we were trying to use the coil from OSC-MG01 904 but keep using the existing "plate", somehow my TX-12 come with PTO clutch Denso 447300-1000, not Ogura. I couldn't find Denso 447300-1000 in anywhere, so I hope I could find the OSC-MG01 802 to give it a try. If OSC-MG01 802 is really the model can fit into my TX-12, then the extra OSC-MG01 904 coil can be a spare parts for future use instead of become rubbish.

Here is the original PTO clutch image for your reference.

i would drop Ogura and email and find out the actual specs

OSC-MG01 is the model 802 is the spec

447300-1000 is the air conditioning clutch not the supercharger

can you take a pic of your engine ?

Posted

It turns out they did use a/c clutches for the charger just need to find a cross-reference for that Denso part

edit, someone has been in there before 447300-1000 clutch is a 4 rib belt 4PK (4PV) the s/c uses a 6 rib belt 6PK

so they have mixed and matched parts

I have sent few E-mail to Ogura in the US and Japan, none of them reply me. The Ogura supplier here couldn't get the quote for OSC-MG01 802, then I bought it from the link provide by alexcbx, but the shop sent me OSC-MG01 904.

We hope the OSC-MG01 802 can be the one that's can fit into my car. I am the fifth or sixth owner, we dont have the full history.

We didn't know it's Denso 447300-1000 until we pull off the clutch. We agree this should be mix and match, as you mentioned Denso 447300-1000 should be 4 rib but dont know why it's fitting with 6 rib belt together with TX-12. Since it was running well and the Denso 447300-1000 clutch plate is still working fine, so we found another coil to continuous the mix and match. From images below, you can see the one on left side, the wire get burned and the one on right side is the new coil which looks exactly the same, we dont have the model number, because the shop just keep looking in the storage room and found this.

It may not be durable and I would like to keep this car as far as I can, so I hope OSC-MG01 802 is the correct clutch that I need for my car.

The Denso part is just the front plate salvaged from another car - if you look up that part number the clutch relates to an older 90's car eg. AE95 or AE100

Can you PM me your vin and i will see what i can find

After going around in circles i come across the Aisin SC12 from the Previa what is supposedly the same charger

http://www.matrixgarage.com/content/sc12-service-guide

That stator is 17069-76010

Do you mean the clutch from SC12 can put on TX12? Or only the stator 17069-76010 can be use on both SC12 and TX12?

That i do not know - ogura S/C uses a Ogura clutch i found an0ther 2zz with another type Ogura clutch

A zoomed in pic and rotated, that part looks like OCS1- MGO 1A 504 i can not find a reference for that one either i assume these are Ogura's factory numbers as a OEM part

Hi Eric,
You're original driveplate looks totally different to mine.... Looks like someone's done a few bodges to keep your supercharger going.
My replacement was exactly the same as the one I pulled off OSC-MG01 802. I didn't have to reuse any old parts as the kit came complete.

You'll have to go through a Toyota (Main Dealer) to order any Ogura part....It's a exclusive contract that Ogura have with Toyota!!
Fortunately, Ogura also supply superchargers for some Volvo's and Kawasaki Jetski's. That's how we can buy clutches from marine shops.

I don't know why but the link (I posted) for the replacement clutch, from Yachtparts, is absolutely wrong.
That link takes you to 23407742 which is wrong!
It should've taken you to:

It seems that Yachtparts changed the link, sometime after I bought the clutch!!
For your reference: A picture of my S/C

PS. Sorry Eric, I threw the old parts away

Here is what the Comp boys have said.....

"You'll need a clutch kit from a Volvo Kad44 engine or kad42. I fitted one of these to my compressor had no problems with it. You won't get one Toyota as they only sell the complete compressor"

I'll post some pictures when I get the kit and start the work 🙂

So the Ogura's clutch OSC-MG01, it's come with many different splines. such as 802, 904, 511 and OCS1- MGO 1A 504

Thank you for your confirmation, then I will keep pursue OSC-MG01 802 and hope I can find one. Actually, Yachtparts help checked your receipt no. and confirm my clutch is 100% same as yours, so I assume they are wrong now. Because they have send you the OSC-MG01 802 and mind is OSC-MG01 904. Guess the different for 802 and 904 is really the splines only. From the 904, except the splines, everything can fit into the shaft.

Just in case anyone need the clutch, only looking for volvo part no. 23285069 or 3581724 is not enough, because it can either come with OSC-MG01 802 or 904

They are not replying my E-mail, but no worry, it can be spare part. Believe it can mix and match with OSC-MG01 802 and 504 🙂
