If you’ve been waiting for your car for 7 months , and because they are changing to MY23 … surely you should be among the first ones , or as they switch to the new model in a couple of weeks time to get delivery ….. why the wait from that moment again for months ?! You already did your waiting 🤷‍♂️ how is this system working ? Who gets what and when ???

Hi, the dealer just didn’t know. I’d hope to be amongst the first but who knows! Hopefully it will be sooner but I’m not holding my breath.

I’d sooner the dealer be honest as they have than try to string me along.

Frustrating isn't the word.. For most of us here by the sounds of it.

I ordered my Corolla Excel on 23rd Sept via CarWow. It showed the MY23 spec, and I badgered the dealer to confirm my order, price etc, was *definitely* for a MY23 face-lift.

CarWow has now suddenly reverted back to the MY22 spec, with this...

Please note
This configuration of the Toyota Corolla has recently been changed by the manufacturer. Please configure a new car with your required specification or check existing stock.

It's a total mess all round.. When my car eventually goes into build, I'll throw a proper wobbler if they turn round and tell me there's a change in price due to me having ordered a MY22 (which my dealer confirmed I did not!)

We should wait and see what happens in January.  The only thing well get from Toyota is snow flakes in MyT app and no cars.

Scarlet flare 2.0 Excel JBL estate, ordered 24th February.  Just changed to in build.  Was sure I would be waiting until 2023 so this is a surprise.  Will wait and see what happens.  22 spec or 23 spec… who knows 😂

I understood they stopped building 22 specs a few weeks ago?..

My dealer said there was one production run left before the factory shutdown over Christmas, (which I guess starts on Friday night if they down for 2 weeks??).

Looks like they may have made the cut!

I wish my T worked for me , my updates are just a call from my dealer. I'm itching to hear from them as they said they will give my registration in December

This would mean that they would change to MY23 straight after that - they can’t even tell you the final specs let alone to change the production line 😁 I’m pretty sure there will be more MY22 built in the new year too.

I got the same spec purchased on 9/02/22 but my colour was discontinued. I changed my colour to silver and now I know for sure that I went to the back of the queue 😂 if you are to get it before me. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s built and on its way apparently.  Phone call to dealer suggested it would be with me start of January.  By the comments I am guessing 22 spec… which is absolutely fine as that is what I ordered, provided it has the JBL… as I ordered that too!  If it is registered start of January then that means it is a 2023 car which can only be a good thing for resale value?

Many thanks to all who have contributed to this discussion.  Helpful to read all the experiences people have had.  I feel I haven’t had it as hard as some people.  Longer wait than expected but I have been happily driving my 2020 Corolla excel estate that I would not have changed so soon if I hadn’t been offered a good deal on a new one.  After 30,000 miles and trips from Northern Ireland to the top of Scotland, south of Ireland, London and Amsterdam I can tell you it has been a great car to own.

Well there we are.  My Corolla TS GR in Manhattan Grey has been built and according to my dealer (who I had to chase rather than keep me informed) it will be delivered on the 23 December so will be PDI’d beginning of January 2023 ready for collection on the 5th.

So it seems that Manhattan Grey hasn’t’ t been discontinued…..  unless a canary yellow car rocks up.  We let you know.  It all seems to have been a little chaotic!  Sad it isn’t a MY23 but at least it has only been 9 months since my 0% order on 31 March.

Well done I ordered a TS Excel JBL Pearl Paint at the same time as you and have heard nothing!

Response I got back today (19th Dec)..

"Hi Gavin, thanks for your question.

Our Product Team have advised that the MY22 Corolla is no longer being built"

I wonder what are they going to do between 19 and and maybe the first 2 weeks in January.  I wonder if they already building 23 model or manufacturing plant is closed for 2-3 weeks😂

I expect they will need to adjust the production line for 23 model changes, dealers expecting demo vehicles early Jan so they should be starting making them after the shutdown. Toyota aren’t even telling the dealers what the final spec for 23 will be, odd way of doing business unless it’s bad news and there are no additions since the sept bulletin, communication isn’t there strong point

Maybe they don’t have confirmed delivery of all components?

There was an article in 2019 suggesting the plant shut down for 2 weeks over Xmas. Whether that has changed post covid I don’t know.

I guess there will be some changes to the production line too.

But if you are expecting a January delivery however it will still be my22 and not the My23. Unless you expecting feb onwards I doubt its my22. Cause the process normally is its made end of the month delivery is mid the following month, from following peoples trends on this forum

We ordered a 1.8 TS in mid/late March and are still waiting.

Spoke to the dealer today and our order is now showing MY23, with Juniper Blue as the colour (we ordered Denim Blue). Hilariously, the dealer doesn't know what the colour looks like as it's not on the website.

Up to this point, we've had dates for end of Sept, Oct and Dec.

From what we were told, the factory had been split 50/50 for MY22/3, which will have slowed production. And no order to when cars appear; more akin to throwing darts at a board.

We'll see in time about any financial implications; worry about that when we have an idea as to when the car will arrive.

I'm mostly concerned about losing the 0% we signed up to.

Juniper blue is a lot different to denim blue, think purple

Aaaah, that sounds like how Obsidian Blue looks on the configurator 🤔.

We were leaning towards a dark/purple blue or red as alternatives, so that would suit us

We were only told that denim blue was no longer available in November, so had to go and choose a new colour.  We went with Juniper blue.

It's a difficult choice with the new colours without being able to see them at the dealership. Sounds a bit like casino. Black or red Sir😂
