Production for MY23 has already started/starting imminently so where are all the cars built in Jan/Feb/March etc going?

A lots will be heading towards European Toyota dealers as they to will need demonstrator & showroom Corolla models.

Yes. I ordered a 1.8 Icon TS on the basis that it would have front and rear parking sensors as part of the spec and not as an add on.

Dealer says that it won't come with either but that they will fit front sensors when it arrives (which I am not keen on as don't want the job doing shoddily).

Tempted to take delivery of it and sell it straight away as they gave me top whack for my MY22 HB and they've said nothing about me paying more for the car (ordered it at the start of September before prices went silly).

A MY22 Icon would not have had factory fit parking sensors, A MY23 will per the launch bulletin

I agree with this, the website isn’t up to date but the bulletin for my23 shows all models get front and rear parking sensors with intelligent sonar clearance. The my22 icon only has front sensors with the rear as an option. Clearly the dealer in question hasn’t read about the products, quite common in my experience.
It’sa shame there parking assist has been removed from all my23, maybe there is a parts shortage, this is a downgrade from 22, really advanced park should’ve been added but that would require 4 cameras which might have supply issues, you would think it could be an option though as it is on the Yaris Cross

 Firstly hello everybody

well i am glad i found this forum and its been amazing how much info i have gotten from this forum in minutes than i have from my dealer (steven eagell)

well we placed order for  corolla excel 5 door h/b with pan roof in denim blue early part of april and was told delivery september  time ,well that came and went then told 8th dec  we was told it was built and waiting to be delivered to dealership  i chased them last week and asked wheres the car ? they said they had e mailed toyota for a update well 7 days later they reply with a simple its now 1/6/23 .well i was !Removed! fuming and i had so many questions that they just did not have any answers and they thought it was due to maybe a new model coming out  meaning a further delay ?.i said i have not even seen the new car and would not order a car i have never seen or driven ,why give me a date they have no intension of keeping it? why let me order a older model car if the new model coming ou ? even today 25/12 on toyota website you can  still order a corolla whats the point when you cannot complete old orders

and now haven read a few pages on this platform it looks like the denim blue is no longer available and the dealer should have been in contact with me to pick another color  but nothing .

i have had toyota vehicles  for the last 25 years and how worked in the car industry so i have a good idea when i feel you are being bounced along the road with all the bull they dribble and the way they have treated myself is just pitiful and woeful and tbh i feel like telling them to shove it and they dont even come back with any sort of apology explanation what can we do to keep you as a customer its a we dont care if you get your car or not

Its at best a !Removed! shambles from toyota and i look forward to next week with some sort of update which tbh i am not expecting anything new only more lies blah blah blah

sorry for the rant

jason

Same issue I faced except the dealer emailed me to advise the colour changed and would be June 23 which was the worst customer service I have ever seen esp as they held back another week. Thanks  to this site I was able to see the Denim blue should have been advised months ago so I hit Google maps with a 1 star review and a letter to the CEO (who has yet to reply). I now have a nice new car on my drive as a result. Don’t accept the patter be firm it’s worth it they offered me two cars within the dealership.

Thanks both.

Think it's becoming clear that the dealer hasn't a clue what they are doing.

But with Toyota messing about, I will let it go.

Had a look at the dealer today.  They are closed but able to walk in and see what is there.

The red one is I am 99% sure my new one, excel spec and it appears to have the JBL Speakers, looking at the windscreen pillars inside the car.  It was built 2 weeks ago and still showing Derby on the app but that probably hasn’t updated.

Other brand new estates also there, silver, white, navy blue and grey.  Can’t remember the exact names of the colours.

I just asked my dealer when they're expecting an MY23 Demo vehicle... Their response was a very helpful "we have no idea"

Great CS!

My dealer is expecting a demo 1.8 GR sport hb first week Jan & 2.0 TS Excel mid Jan, both subject to them selling the existing demo vehicles first.

There seems to be a theme ... cars ordered in Denim blue ... dealers telling us they are on the way ... then a rapid backtrack and we need to choose a new colour ... to finding ourselves at the back of the queue.

We went from 'it'll be available for pickup in early Nov'.  To 'we expect it around April'.

I’ve ordered a 2.0 TS at the end of September and my dealer is saying the end of March for delivery still.  I questioned this as being unlikely when I was collecting my GR86 and he went away and checked and came back again confirming on track for the end of March.

My TS 2.0 was ordered February and now delivery is March 23.

Not sure what is happening at the moment but for 2 l TS some people here have been waiting 8 months already

Out of interest, did you order JBL or other extras that might’ve been a supply issue? What trim level/colour?
I ordered 2.0 TS, sterling silver excel beginning Sept and dealer still says 1 March.

Corolla TS 2.0 Excel with JBL in denim blue 💙

Perfect trim with the worst waiting time.

I have been given 4 delivery dates in the past.

1. In the beginning of August

2. In October

3. And one for November

4. If I get lucky maybe will get the car in March depends on the backlog

No denim blue or JBL now but will get the new 23 😂and I had to change the colour to silver. Still not sure what will happen with my 0 % finance or who will pay for the new model uplift.

porky pie's from Toyota so far 🤣

Hi all

I’ve just had an email from my dealer stating that my order (May 4th, 1.8 TS Design Scarlett Flare) is confirmed a MY23, due for manufacturing in Feb and delivery in March.

Still no details on finals specs though!

What was the last estimated delivery date before this email ?

Hi,

It was originally November, then December. So could be worse!

See Devon Aygo's post within this topic of 24th December @16.14.

I did see it, which prompted me to post that my dealer is saying March for my late September order.

My dealer said the same, March for my late September order. Unfortunately they've not filled themselves with glory whenever I've raised any questions about my order, pretty much from day 1. So I'm taking March with a pinch of salt!

That sounds like a sensible approach. It seems very inconsistent. To be fair to the dealer networks, they probably aren’t being given accurate info either.

It’s just frustrating that Toyota social media channels were as recently as November stating that new orders would be a May/June delivery which clearly isn’t going to happen!

My Parents ordered a 2.0 GR Sport Hatchback in June.

*Initial Delivery Date given was September, we queried this several times but was assured this was correct.

*Dealer made contact in August to advise the date would be pushed back to December.

*No further correspondence, so we contacted the Dealer early December to see if our Car was still on track for December build and we were advised it was due to be built end of December.

*Mid December the Dealer called to advise it’s good news, they are expecting our car to be delivered end of December/early January and asked us to pay the remaining cash balance (several thousand) so they can get the finance documents for the outstanding balance ready and in place for when we collect the vehicle. We also had to choose the Registration Plate.

*Dealer contacted on the 27th of December to advise they have been informed by Toyota that delivery is now expected Feb/March and can not even confirm if it’s MY22 or MY23 model.

Looking at the forum, it appears we are one of many in the same situation 😔

I’d be very annoyed in your situation, particularly after taking the cash balance and choosing a registration plate!

The one consistent point seems to be the MY22 has ceased production and anything now will be a MY23. Whether you have to pay more as a result, and whether the finance rates on the original deal remain valid seems to be subject to variation depending on which dealer.

I know there are lots of challenges for manufacturers at the moment, but I’m surprised that Toyota’s internal and external communications are so uncoordinated.
