I was keeping my fingers crossed until the last minute , but on Friday I was informed that my order didn’t make it to the final MY22 builds. I was supposed to get delivery next week , and not hearing any new updates from my broker I was assuming that it was built and it comes down only to logistical delays. It is very poor from Toyota not giving correct updates and in time , at least we know what we’re facing , but it’s almost like playing the lottery 🤷‍♂️ the next upsetting part is that even though I have ordered in May , my new ETA is only June , was expecting to be dealt in the early months of 2023 as not honoured MY22 order

I called Toyota today. No MY23 for test drive in local dealer and they don't know when one will arrive. Also was told will take a good couple of months for my car to arrive.  11 months on the queue already+ another 3 for sure

Maybe will pay in  full and no longer need finance if the car arrives in August 🤣🤣🤣

I called my local dealer, also no my23 in showroom or for demo, should arrive January but they had no info if they will, they had no bulletin since December. Anyone near Burmaston factory seen any leave the factory yet?

I’ve been trying to get hold of my toyota dealership all day and with no luck. I was told 20th for car availability and now the 26th too so I am completely clueless on when I am actually collecting. I will followup again tomorrow as this is getting ridiculous so close to the time

Just seen this on https://mag.toyota.co.uk/2023-toyota-corolla-revealed-with-latest-hybrid-electric-tech/comment-page-10/#comments

A bit worrying, to say the least! Seems the mess is getting even worse...

I can only assume the poster placed his order pre 1st September..

Not according to @Devon Aygo

MY22 Production has now ended and MY23 is underway, anyone who ordered and is still receiving a MY22 and has access to their order on MyT will have been informed production has commenced, in reality the car is built and now processing through depot ay Burniston, once the car has started its transit to wherever MyT will will update to show this.

Early January, February build of MY23 is allocated mostly to dealer demos with a minimum of 2 per dealer plus a static Showroom car with over 3000 dealers across Europe that's over 9000 cars plus extras for press use.

March, April & May Production is then dedicated to unfulfilled MY22 orders.

Finally as for JBL whilst it has been discontinued until further notice in the UK it is still available elsewhere in Europe, unfortunately the factory is under EU control & whilst the UK is the single largest Toyota market Europe as a whole is bigger and often get priority over the UK.

It depends on the dealer and will vary depending on how busy they are/how switched on your sales person is. If they had to they could do it in a day but I guess it’s not unreasonable to take a week or so.

I am annoyed! Background my Father passed away suddenly from cancer and left me some money. Never owned a new car, ordered this in March 2022 with his money towards it as I thought I could think of him when I drive it. Today I get this from the dealer I am disgusted, I cannot believe an organisation would treat some one like this 😔 shame on you Toyota, I also never said I would cancel they said wait until December to get price protection.

That is poor treatment.  I'd suggest making a fuss on twitter.

I got the same email from my dealer last week and, after a few emails, a tweeter rant and a call, to the Toyota's Customer Relations Team (0344 701 6202), I got them to honour the original agreed APR, not the 7.9%! Not ideal but it's more managable. I'm almost sure that if you bore them with emails and say you'll have to leave them a bad review they'll try something to make you happy.

Thanks can I look at your twitter rant to help me?

Can someone explain what ''unfortunately as the order was not matched in a 2022 model it has been changed and will incur the addition cost''.

We don't know yet if we have to pay more and how much and what will happen with the interest payments on the finance agreement but I guess will find out in the next 5 weeks

I’m likely to cancel mine.  I think the lack of JBL will annoy me given that its on the older models and EU dealerships still get it.

I think it means that if you ordered a 2.0 TS Excel, then you're still going to get a 2.0 TS Excel.  Just the MY23 version.

If however, you ordered a 2.0 TS Excel JBL then there is no direct match.

Well my promised delivery date is march and I hope to have more info by end of February. In next couple of weeks Toyota may update the web page with the new MY 23 . We don't know what are we going to get. If Corolla TS is built here in UK for Europe  I don't know why German page have a loads more colour choices and JBL. We should be getting the same choice. And I'm waiting because not in the hurry. But if they ask for more money and interest changes will probably go for Mercedes plug in hybrid  GLA . More expensive but more powerful and  the Speakers are top. I went for test drive last week and is my back up option.

Phoned dealer today as I would be out of the country for my delivery date at the end of January. Was told delivery now March and MY23 (ordered early June) Manhattan Grey is no longer available and it has changed to Decuma Grey

Specs and colours will vary from country to country - in this case it will depend what the German importer requires for their market.

We have the same practice in Bulgaria where I'm coming from. But not with cars. We sell the best wine to Europe and keep the cheep one for local market because is cheep and people don't complain. Correct me if I m wrong. But I think we should be getting the best of Toyota and not some scraps. It will be a year soon since a purchased. Not much communication from Toyota unless I call. It feels like the business is run by people who don't care. I guess the demand is high and they have other priorities. But we all learn from our mistakes. We wait and wait and wait and ask for refund at the end 🔚

It is down to each importer to decide on the specifications, colour choices, etc. So presumably Toyota GB have decided they have different requirements for the UK market to Toyota Germany for their market.
