I’ve just traded in my Astra Elite 2017 1.6 diesel last year, which I found was a great car, and down sized for the Yaris Hybrid also a great wee car. Also had lots of Toyota Corolla’s. Generally the Toyota’s comes out on top for comfort mpg and reliability. Although in the past 52yrs since I have been driving cars, (motorcycle before that) best car was an 01 Astra, and my worst car was an Opel Kadette A 1965, the only thing on that car which did not give me any trouble was the front number plate🤣😂👹. Toyota Yaris Hybrid which I have now is suitable for my needs and low mileage short journeys. Plus my Toyota dealer in Mountcharles is the best I’ve ever came across.

You have a great car there in the Corolla Sol and loads of high spec toys. The one that I have found most useful of all is the automatic headlights.

@Timmon It does look good, (in my opinion) and it certainly oozes quality on the inside. I have for a long time, had Opel Astras and always thought they were nice cars - I have changed my mind now. 😁. As you say, the rear seats fold down and even without that, the boot is huge. In my over 45 years of driving, this is my first Toyota! After only a week, I am a convert. 👍

Opel Astra! I had an Opel Kadett (last of Opel brand in UK before they became Vauxhall Astra) in the 80's, followed by a Vauxhall Astra in 1987. I liked it, 1.2 ltr and shifted well! Much better than the 1.4ltr Escort that I replaced it with. Hated the Escort, burnt fuel, smoky, and blew around on the motorway in even a breeze! Never had any luck with Fords!

Toyota estimates Delivery times to be 28 weeks on allmost every model. It's the danish webpage saying so, is the UK version different?

In the UK, delivery varies depending on model, spec, etc. Eg the Corolla1.8 hybrid hatchback Design with options is currently showing 8 weeks.

I'm using the myT app which showed my car built in a day or so in Derby, it then said its in transport to my dealer. But has been saying that for a week.... I could have walked it quicker.

Anyone else experienced this? I guess the car is sat waiting for a full lorry load before they transport it :(

My T was not connected for almost 4 months after I got my car, so can't help there. I know there are some issues with My T at the moment, recent journeys over the las couple of days are not appearing on My T , so maybe the data for your car is not updating.

But if you call your dealer, they may have a schedule which says when it will arrive. Sometimes, the technology is not that reliable, but a phone call or email should help.

I ordered a Corolla saloon on 20th February. I did not know it would come from Turkey, but if I have to wait 16 weeks that suits me fine. I am in no hurry.

Only the hatchback and Touring Sport are made in the UK. The current Corolla saloon and its two predecessers (2007-2019) are/were built in Turkey - as is the C-HR.

You have a lot of patience. I don't think I could wait that long if I had the opportunity to buy a new car.

I ordered my Corolla excel on 19th February & was initially told to expect delivery at the end of March. This was however moved to early April. I have since been advised to give it a couple of weeks & check with the dealer again. Wouldn’t want it to be pushed back further.

In truth I don't have that much patience but I am happy driving my C-hr until the saloon arrives.

Interesting you have chosen a saloon over hatchback or estate coming from an C-HR? We all know the saloons are not that popular in uk but in Ireland, Europe and some Asian countries these are the preferred model. I do like it too, especially for extra space on the rear and brighter roof lining.

I was also initially looking at the saloon as the configurator said you could only have a tow bar fitted to the saloon or TS, not the hatch (for electric bike tow bar carrier).  I double checked with the dealer who eventually confirmed the tow bar information was correct.  The lead time last March for a saloon was 6 months but happy that I opted for the TS and the extra space.

I haven't been inside a corolla but is it really noticeable the dark roof lining? My current car has cream would it be a huge shock in when I change over to a touring sport?

Well not a huge shock but noticeable for sure. , and mostly on rear seats of the hatchback as addition to the large sloppy c pillars. Saloon has most comfortable interior because has a white roof lining plus rear window and thinner c pillars all that makes it best for carrying passengers IMO. On the front seats it’s not that bad. You can visit a dealer and try them once lockdown is over. 👍

It is fine, really. I bought the Panny roof which makes it a lot lighter inside, but during the winter, the blind has been closed, and I am totally used to it. I tend to forget to open the blind. On positive side,  the dark roof won't show marks!

I find the grey interior lining quite attractive, very complementary to the overall interior colour scheme. I think it's less distracting in bright sunshine compared to the usual lighter material in most cars, especially the A pillars that you see all the time. Perhaps it's a matter of personal taste. And, as @Timmonnoted, the darker roof lining won't show any marks!

I like the grey roof lining.

I’ve just had my dealership on the phone. I’ve ordered my new Corolla in Obsidian blue but apparently there is an issue with that colour at the factory which is causing delays on orders in that colour.
Is there anyone else awaiting an Obsidian blue Corolla? Have you heard this?

I've ordered this from a leasing company and have been told January delivery. Same colour but I didn't get the impression the colour was an issue, although I guess the lease company either wouldn't know or wouldn't want to say in case it put me off.

So for everyone waiting for delivery at the moment what lead time are you seeing currently.

I ordered on 31st Aug and dealer has advised that the system is showing 14th Oct but that that may go backwards.
