Total shambles, nobody knows where they stand. My September Excel HB order was initially given ETA of March(😂), then 12th May, now 7th July. I'll give it 3 weeks before that's pushed back to September. If I haven't cancelled by then!!

I believe here there are more members with the same problem, new car orders from 2022. Perhaps you should get toggle and ask head office for response. Even if necessary together contact Toyota head office Japan and fight for your rights. Your orders should have been fulfilled first and not been left waiting for so long.

It may not be straight forward. The order books for MY23 opened in September and MY22 was in production until Xmas, unfulfilled MY22 didn’t start to be converted/ offered until November so by that point there were nearly 3 months of MY23 orders. Maybe Toyota are trying to balance this, especially as the MY23 customers will have paid more from the point of ordering both in the product price and interest.
Not ideal for anyone, made worse by poor communication, many don’t mind waiting so long as they are kept informed and not left in limbo or messed about with changing delivery dates multiple times.

I do agree, for me communication has been non-existent since I placed my order mid September. I've basically been a pain in the neck to the dealership, chasing them every couple of months for updates. If I hadn't, I'd have been none the wiser. I'm amazed how poor the customer service has been, quite frankly. My patience is paper thin now..

From reading the VW ID3 internet forum, this is what VW customers have experienced too - and the suspicion that orders of significantly higher value to the company, i.e. those placed following the recent price rises and/or with lower APRs, are given preferential treatment in the hope that 'older' customers will cancel their orders. Difficult to prove, of course.

I don’t think this is true either - my order is from May 2022 - converted to MY23 to the new price , no finance from Toyota or favourable APR deal and still pushing my eta back to June 🤷‍♂️

My eta is also June from an early September order, pushed back from 1 March, there are few saying delivered in last couple of weeks so maybe there are no deliveries at the moment, unfortunately no communication to explain why, it’s possible the June eta could move forward. June though forces me to pay for current car first service given dealer is 160 miles away

This will be pushed back via Toyota Europe to your importer.

I run a quote from Carwow for Corolla design hatchback my 23 and the deal was actually not too bad. Which is a good discount, Toyota says 22 week waiting time.

Exactly the same here. Don't need a service but the front tyres are nearing the limit on my CHR. The dealer has agreed to reimburse me for the MOT though.

Where did you see the bit about 22 weeks Tony?

I ordered mine last August and was told by dealer by end of May but I will take it with a pinch of salt as im aware there are more people who ordered earlier than mine. But if it comes then happy days. I almost on the brink of cancelling my order as well and look somewhere else like Lexus but waiting times are long as well.
seen some deals with carwow as well with the 2L hb excel bitone even with pano roof it seems its better deal than the deal I have even with the 1.9%, i better do some haggling again with my dealership.
Seen a TS excel MY23 on obsidian blue yesterday whilst driving around North circular in London. Looks great so far.

Toyota may say 22 weeks but I’m in week 27 with another 13 weeks to latest eta, either we will be surprised with a delivery soon or that 22 weeks is fantasy

On Toyota website. If you configure the car directly from there and go next page for payment. 👍

Thanks for this, Tony. It is interesting how the Guaranteed Future Value (Optional Final Payment) has gone up significantly to mask somewhat the impact of the much higher APR on monthly payments.

It has gone up dramatically the optional final payment by almost 2-4k. So the dealer contributions negates the increase somehow as per sales executive per se. Funny those sales executive sometimes dont really know anything about the car and their finance deals.

22 weeks from today would be only one week later than the ETA the dealer has given me for a car I ordered 2 months ago.

From what I'm hearing I would be (pleasantly) surprised to take delivery in less than 6 months from now.

I just tried the same thing as Tony on the Toyota site - they are saying delivery from 22 weeks for the hatchbacks and from 26 weeks for the touring sports (presumably the extra boot accounts for the longer build time....?).

An update on the MyT issues. I finally worked out how to register my account on the multimedia system. The advice says "follow the instructions on your MyT app"; well there are no instructions. By trial and error after pressing the "link" button on the multimedia, you have to touch "connected services" on the MyT app and keep pressing things until the camera opens up and let's you scan the QR code. After that it's a doddle and now all the settings I want are automatically set as soon as I unlock the car. Someone should do a YouTube video!

Touring sport Corolla in higher demand as it’s still a car of choice for many taxi and private hire drivers plus business users., company cars etc. 👍

Alfa Romeo have started owners leases 3 months before they have even got their cars! I think the automotive industry is in a word of hurt, and orders are being fulfilled based upon materials they have at the time. I think Toyota were a 20% down on volume in 2022 and the volatile economy it’s !Removed! profitably

Chased dealer at weekend and no change I am afraid. Production to resume late April for TS’s with delivery late June is what I am being told.
