Toyota are really talking a p..s with some customers and particularly those with late delivery and 22 cars that now they have to deliver 23. That’s not good at all.
If me I will rather buy Honda hybrid but will stay clear from any German cars. These particular in hybrids variants are very bad, poor design, ultra unreliable, not even nice to drive and just better buy a diesel if you want Mercedes.

Thanks for the advice about Mercedes. My preferred option is plug in hybrid. Where I live local council are charging us for residents parking permit based on the emissions of the car. Between 30 and 40 CO2 g/km is ideal for me. Only reason I went for Toyota was the price at the time and 0% interest for 3.5 years.

Plug in hybrids if of interest best ones are Toyota because when they drain their traction Battery they work as standard Toyota hybrid which are known for best in the business., where others really lack behind. Bmw , Mercedes’, vw, anyone hybrid tech it’s more complex and does not work as good or has any real world benefits over non hybrid variants, even in some cases are worse for efficiency and performance., reliability too.
Would you consider an electric car instead? There are some interesting models, but if you drive long miles often these are not good.
I am going on my first long trip in ev next weekend and we share after some experience and frustration. 😂👍

It seems Toyota have serious problems these days. My car was delivered to Toyota dealer with faulty parts had only 8 miles on the clock now Toyota technicians are driving up and down clocking miles on my new car trying to figure out what is wrong with it. What I can't understand is how a new car can leave the factory in that state. Or all the promises ot quality checks are rubbish. Total mess.🤬

Have you spoken to the dealer?

I think this is part of the PDI check/setting the car up. If I go into ‘notifications’ on My Toyota then I have these messages too plus another one. The mileage they are adding could just be a quick test drive or putting some fuel in ready for collection.

When my 2023 TS Icon was delivered MyT showed those two messages. I assumed that it was caused by a transport anomaly and they duly disappeared by the time I took delivery. Maybe something was missed at the PDI. How were the tyre pressures?

I don't know what to believe anymore. Dealer told me to pick up the car last Friday and that didn't happen. I got email from Toyota online they have problem with the paperwork. And at the same time my Toyota app are sending messages about faulty parts in the car. And the car keeps going from Toyota garage to the Nearest Toyota showroom and back.

So I checked the app today! So how long until I get it?

Does anyone else get updates from their dealers as to changes in estimated delivery times? I've heard nothing from my dealer (in St Albans) since ordering the car in September. Eta was end of April so called in over the weekend to check and now told its the 7 July. Surely they should keep us informed. I really expected more from Toyota. What makes it worse is that I have just sold my Alfa Giulia to take advantage of high prices. A brilliant car, very reliable (don't believe the old tropes) but not dog friendly. I now find myself possibly having to buy a run around for 3 months to fill the gap.

I’ve had the processing order in the App for months but today I had an update email to say the order has been processed and the App now confirms this

How soon after you placed your order did it show on the App?  I ordered in February.  I have an order number, etc., but there's nothing showing on the App except my current Corolla.  The new car shows on the "my account" page on the Toyota website, but it's only showing as "configured" on the My Vehicles screen (along with an invitation to "Buy this car!) alongside my current "owned" car.  The salesman at my dealership doesn't know, but seems to think it'll  show once the build begins.  I'm told to expect in in September.

You have to ask dealers usually to check on their system for eta, this seems to move weekly and they will have the history of these movements. I agree its a poor system, it wouldn’t take much for an IT developer to automate sending out the changes to eta by email or text.
It does make planning difficult, like selling your old car in your case, for me it’s holidays I’d expected to have the new car for as ideally I’d use the extra room in the new car.  And incurring costs of servicing the current car as delivery has been extended several times

I ordered last August. It was quickly on the App but a week ago it went from processing to processed. Only difference on the App is there is now a map from factory to dealer. Latest estimate is it may be built this month

I am also in this situation, not sure why I don’t have a “purchased” tab, I always have the other cars? I keep asking the dealer but they say it will show once I have a build slot?

I sold my Alfa Giulia for the exact opposite reason!

That's a coincidence; only i ordered in November, and my date was also said to be 7 July. !!!

The only car shown in "My Garage" is my current car. I understood that the ordered one should be shown shortly after the order was placed, but it isn't.

That's also what my dealer told me, but others say differently!  I might have to resort to phoning Toyota.  The Help Chat on the website was worse than useless.

Really useful to see everyone else's comments here regarding their waiting time etc. My timeline so far: Ordered MY23 1.8 Excel H/B in last week of Sep 2022. MyT app status changed to 'Processing Order' in the last week of December 22 (and since stayed the same). ETA at the time of ordering was last week in May 23. Then it came forward to to March 23 followed by first week in May 23. Called the dealer this morning and they informed me the new ETA is 6th June 2023.  Another two months (at least) it seems.

I had that before and it was my dealer who misspelled my email address, maybe worth checking they entered your details correctly and linked to your order

Just spoke to my dealer, the April date has now become June. He is trying to get more information for me

Mine will be 9 months, maybe more, the point here is I ordered a MY23 as soon as announced, so shouldn’t have been shortages, the wait was for them to change the production line in early 23, the my22s waiting tend to be because of denim paint or JBL.
The factory is producing but maybe they are concentrating on the European market first and demonstrators for all the dealers in the U.K. and Europe.
i hope they deliver soon but by then the 2024 model will probably be announced!

Hi,

I went through all of this myself. Ended up contacting Toyota customer services who sent me back to the dealer who after some nagging sorted it out. I think it is a different system they have to link.
