Hi Guys, the little lady insists that her '97 Starlet has to have mudflaps. Toyota aren't quite sure whether they sell them or not! Does anyone know if they do, or of anyone that makes them to fit with the plastic arch liners? Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi,

Welcome to TOC.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, and equally sure that we never really reached a conclusion.!

I reckon that the Sera mudflaps would/might fit - and they are really tidy too , colour matched and everything.

I'm sure there will be some Starlet owners along soon who will know better than me though.

I'm gonna have to try a different Toyota garage and see if they can get them especially at that price. Did have a look at the ones on eBay the other day but there just cheap cr@p universals with Toyota written on them. Thanks for your help guys. ;)

 toyota do sell mud flaps for starlet on a 97. some came as a optional extra when car was built. meaning that the wings will have holes to screw then on. but if it aint then its time to get the black and decker out mate.

I wanted to put some nice red rally style flaps on. You know, the thin ones that look nice when whizzin past the chippy. Anybody got those on?

Well i went back to the Toyoya garage on saturday morning, went to the parts department to be greeted by a pimply 12yr old saturday boy with a dodgy looking black eye. I thought there was no chance this guy would be able to help. but guess what he knew everything off the top of his head, he's ordered them in and i pick them up on thursday. Sorted! Moral of the story don't judge a book by its cover, thanks for all your help guys.

Post a pic when you get them fitted, AND let us know the part numbers for them. (that would be really helpful for the next time someone asks this !)

On the subject of Parts departments....my local Toyota dealer has started GIVING me parts! I was in there (again) last week picking up some more bits and I mentioned that the next job was an oil change.

Within moments an oil filter and new copper washer for the sump plug were on the counter accompanied by the words 'Here you go Mate, on the house !'

Hi Guys well they all went on today. i'll post a pic when i get chance. The part numbers are:-

Front passenger 76622-19305

Front Driver 76621-19305

Rear Passenger 76626-19595

Rear Driver 76625-19595

The fronts are a much easier and better fit then the rears and also have a glued rubber seal to make them tight. The rears however have to be screwed into the bumper itself, but with a bit of patience they look cushty.
