Toyota Corolla Compressor Injector

Hi guys,

I own a 2006 Toyota Corolla Compressor and one of the injectors (23250-Yw201) has failed.  Toyota don't make them anymore and we are having trouble getting the part.  Toyota dealer seems to think the regular TSport injector wont work on it either. I found a used set in Japan under the code 23250-Yw20T but am unsure if this is the same as listed above.  Any ideas?

Very rare to hear a Denso injector failing. They are different to the N/A T Sport which are yellow 330cc. Compressors are Green 440cc iirc. I take you had a misfire?

Hi Sam, 

Yeah I thought so too.   It happened very quickly, the engine note went really loud (sounded like a V8), and power went to virtually nothing, i had to pump the accerator to try and get it to respond, then blue smoke came out the back then the smoke got worse, engine lights flashed and it stalled. all within half a mile - there were no misfiring symptoms prior to this occuring. It also made it hard to change gear when this happened.  I checked the oil after and it was at correct level on dip stick and the engine temp was normal all the way through this happening.  I had it towed to Toyota and this is what they have said - injector failure no. 4 and it dumped a load of fuel through the engine, but i thought the engine had blown tbh, it smelt strange afterwards, i thought maybe more like a steam engine than fuel burn.   No external leaks of any kind. 

 

So Toyota are saying they can't run the engine (to see if any further damage - they had indicated the cat converter could be damaged as a result of this) until we can source the correct injector. The used Japan Injectors I found for sale are green so guessing they are the correct ones but they are selling as a set for $480 and then would have to wait for shipping so was hoping someone had one over here.
