Hello,

I've been browsing used E180 Aurises on the market, and have seen the 8NR (1.2L Turbo petrol), 2WW (1.6L Diesel) and the 2ZR hybrid so far. However, I've seen Aurises outside the UK with a 1.6L petrol engine, the 1ZR. Does anyone know if that engine was ever available in the UK for the 2nd gen Auris?

Yes it was.

The second generation was launched in the UK in December 2012, and had the 1.33 and 1.6 petrol engines, the 1.4 diesel and the 1.8 hybrid. When the UK range was revised in March 2015, the 1.2T replaced the 1.6 petrol, and the 1.6 BMW N47 diesel was also introduced.

In December 2017, the engine choice was slimmed down to the 1.2T and the 1.8 hybrid.

Ah, I see. So the face-lift models (2016 and newer) don't have it.

The facelift was introduced in the UK from March 2015, which had the 1.2T instead of the 1.6.

I saw a 1.33 with the facelift before settling for my current one. Not sure about 1.6 though. However, I think the 1.2T is made to replace the 1.6 model, like Ford was replacing the 1.6 with its 1.0 Ecoboost engine.

The 1.6 was definitely sold in other markets though. I did most of my driver's ed in a 2016 1.6 Auris.
