Hi all,

seems like my PCV needs cleaning/replacement. Anyone know how to take the damn thing off? The black rubber ring seems to be a part of it. Owners manual isn’t helpful too

Thanks, hafnia

Hafnia Hi,

As far as I understand, you remove the vent hose, and it should unscrew from the crankcase.Try using a strap wrench (Oil Filter removal tool) if you can't get your hand or Goose Neck Pliers to it.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, though it’s very stuck on. I’ll pick up some pliers tomorrow.

Where are you from and what Yaris model code is it ? What engine ? Most pcv valves are threaded in to the cam cover

i wouldn't go pulling on things till you know what you're dealing with

Edit. That looks like it on the intake, if so its part of the intake clean it where it is.

The pcv valve......................

Not sure what that video helps with since mine is the 1.0

That's the issue, if you don't state the engine. Also the model of yaris, as 2011 is a change over year
