As title really. Has anyone done a home DIY head gasket repair with the 1D engine left in. If so any help on doing it basically. What to remove and what can be left on to lift the head up. I have done allot of work on cars but this engine has allot of parts bolted to it compared to the norm to me and looks a massive job. Then you have the timing chain side of things on it to remove. I am not scared to get my hands dirty.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Yes I have the manual which says to remove the engine. I was just curious to see if anyone had ever done this without removing the lump. Is it a big ball ache trying to get into the nuts etc.

Anyone let me no
