PCS, is it always active?

2019 Corolla sports.

Still getting used to new car.

Is the PCS system always active or does it require enabling each time?

I ask because I nearly ran into the back of another car.

PCS is ON in the menu.

It's always on. Either yours is faulty or else you didn't get as close to the car as you think you did. Mine triggered a couple of times when parking in my garage when I first got the car because of how far in I have to drive so that the driver's door doesn't foul a side pillar. At slow speed at least you have to get within a foot of an obstruction before it triggers. I've since placed concrete blocks on the floor so that the wheels will be chocked before I get that close.

But you'll know it when it does. The brakes slam on and 'BRAKE' displays on the dash in red flashing letters and background.

Thanks, I stopped that close to the car in front that I could not see the number plate. Will check with the garage.
