T27, 2.2 Diesel - EGR Cleaning

Hey guys,

 

Looking for some help in the topic of cleaning the EGR valve. Not something I have done before, but looks like something I have to do. My Avensis is from 2012, 86k, and I several things started to happen in the past few weeks:

- Poor MPG

- Turbo lag on lower gears around 18000/20000rpms

- Recently while on the motorway dashboard displayed "Check VSC" + Check Parking Brake controls. Car lost power and I had to pull over. After simply turning the engine on and off, power was back but the lights stayed on. Cleared it after disconnecting the Battery and car is driving fine (apart from the lag).

 

I did some research and a lot of people suggest that clogged EGR valve has a lot to do with that and (apparently) it's very easy to clean. I checked this forum and there was a guide, but all the pictures are now gone (old topic). I can't find anything on YouTube for that particular model. 

Does anyone have some guide or a video and could share it?
