Rear doors deadlocked

Hi guys

New to the forum so here goes...

I've got 2007 Auris and both of the rear doors have deadlocked themselves and don't release the rear locks when unlocked from the remote or key. They both went at the same time which makes me think it's something electronic but I have no idea where the locking control module is on one of these or how I can at least manually release these doors to get into the back!

Any ideas where I can start?

Cheers!

So, you can't get inside the car from the front, and unlock the doors from the inside using the lock/unlock switch on each of the doors?

Nope unfortunately, I can get in from the front as normal and both front doors unlock on the fob as they should, but it's like both rear doors are deadlocked so wont even unlock manually from the inside

Afaik a simple solenoid should be responsible for locking/unlocking the door.

If it wont unlock, then it might be the power to solenoid is always on.

Easiest thing to verify this, take the Battery negative off, then try to unlock the doors manually. IF you do this, don't forget to let the car idle for 10 minutes after reconnecting the Battery, to relearn idle position.

Thanks for the info...

I disconnected the Battery so took the power awat, but unfortunately the solenoids did not release so the doors are both still deadlocked.

When I try to manually unlock the doors from the inside on the buttons near the grab handle, it's like both of them are not releasing.

It seems strange for them to both go at once, so I don't know whether a control module of some kind has gone, going to try and locate the double door lock ecu and see if this is at fault, unless anyone has any other suggestions?

It's quite unusual, but i don't think changing a control module will do any good at this time. Looks like the door lock is stuck.

The manual release is connected to it via cables, and if it does not work when the power is off, then the locks are somehow stuck.

I personally would first try to see if the cable from the inside lock could be removed, to maybe try some pliers with it, or some other way to apply more force.

If you want some read, you can find it here, but mostly it requires toyota Techstream cable for troubleshooting.
