Presumably a Yaris Verso?

Can you provide more info. Is the leak front or rear?  Where is getting wet - front footwell, rear footwell, boot, rear seat, etc? Does the car have a sunroof?

Good Morning!

Thanks for your interest, Frostyballs.

It's a 2000 Yaris Verso, yes. My dear Father had it from new and having lost him in Feb this year, it's now very nice to be driving it. It does NOT have a sunroof.

I first noticed the leak in the passenger side footwell and just couldn't work out from where it might be leaking. Then my partner noticed a wet patch directly above it, above the door. I suspect it might be leaking underneath the black plastic/rubber strip which sits in the indentation on the roof at each side of the car (is that where a rack can be fitted?)

I was just putting it out there in case anyone else had suffered a similar issue. As my Dad always kept it in the garage, I imagine it would not have been a problem. But sadly I do not have a garage.

Any ideas please?

Thanks again

Jonty

I should add that I've only just noticed the leak, and am now waiting for a dry spell (ha!) where I can remove the strip and look underneath it.

Oh, and it's at the front, sorry I forgot to say.

The strips cover the welds to the roof. Could try Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure - it worked for another member who applied several applications:

Hi FB

That's very kind of you...and so prompt too. I've just ordered some Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure, and will let you know. I think it gets quite mucky under this strip - algae/mossy etc... so I'll need to clean it well before applying. I had a similar problem on my old Honda Jazz, but this was water ingress in the boot area.

Anyway, many thanks!

Jonty
