Door locking remote module

Coulfd any one please tell me where the door remote locking module is situated, I have an avensis 2008 estate tr model,I was told it was in the drivers door but have check that and it's not there.

Without looking it up i would say it's in the drivers foot well down by your right ankle, what's the reason ?

My key fob locks the car but manytime it does not unlock the fob has new batteries and has been tested ok,I have to press ĺock/ unlock several times before it unlocks.just checked footwell not there

Thanks flash 22 it is behind the glove box but higher under the dash,will need to remove dashboard to change it, should be easy as you tube has good video how to remove it,thanks again.

Having now changed the remote sensor module(that was a bit of a pain) I still not can open the door with my fob tried reprogramming it but that didn't work, any ideas anyone please.

Have you tried using Toyota techstream cable, or just manually programming?

Are you sure its not the fob, either the switch or the plastic button its self, try the fob with the case removed, it is common for the switches to fail over time

Hi av put a diagnostic computer application and no faults found am thinking it may be the central locking acutuator control unit,in the boot drivers side.

Did you ever solve this? I'm having a similar issue with an 05 Avensis

Op is referring to the receiver, the estate has it behind the glove box instead of in the rear

Still didn't manage to sort this. Had an auto locksmith come out twice. He only charged me for a new key/fob as he couldn't work out why it wouldn't work. He's been in the industry for a long old time so knew what he was doing. Best we had was central locking using the key in driver door. No remote working.
