Setting "First Use Date" for amp updates - How?

Well I registered my MM unit (eventually) so it's "connected".  Now I want to purchase and apply the latest map updates. I go to the e-store, select the update and click to put it in my basket. Then I get stuck. I get asked to confirm the FUD for the car.  I can't, either online or in-car.  The instructions and screen images bear no relationship to those I see in my car. So, how have other managed please?

why would you be buying map updates, a new car comes with map updates for 3 years iirc, what can be found on your "my Toyota" account

Because that's what you have to on MyToyota.... but the "cost" is £0 for the first three years. That's why (apparently) the FUD is required, it sets the start of the 3 year free period.

Well I managed that - by pure coincidence, when I registered my MM I did it online (hadn't worked out how to connect via phone hotspot) and I took a phot of the screen showing the device ID. Underneath that is another line, the "Request Code",and using that on MyToyota allowed me to set the FUD and "purchase" the map.  Lucky, because I can't remember how I got to that screen to get to the device ID in the first place!

Well not in my car it didn't. As a side note, when you set up the internet connection to your MyToyota account via your phone hotspot, one of the options that you can access in the Online menu is map update information.  In there is the MM unit ID, and the map request code that you need when setting FUD online.  Or maybe, when you do that setup the MyTotota site captures that information and automatically sets up the FUD.
